About Vent-Tech
Founded in 2001, Vent-Tech is one of the UK’s leading dust and fume extraction companies. We design and install industrial dust and fume extraction, general ventilation and evaporative cooling systems that help businesses comply with COSHH and wider health and safety regulations, across pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, railway infrastructure, universities and general manufacturing.
We’re a BOHS Training Partner and a founding member of the LEV Association (LEVA), and every member of our team is actively working towards the full suite of BOHS P-series qualifications plus the Certificate of Competence (Control). We don’t just follow LEV standards, we help write them, and we’re proud to be a multiple award-winning team.
Why this role exists
We have more assessment and testing work than our current team can cover. That’s a good problem to have, but it means we need an experienced Senior LEV Assessor/Consultant who can pick up a full caseload from day one, not someone we build up to speed over months.
The opportunity
You’ll be on different sites, in different industries, solving different problems most weeks: carrying out Thorough Examination & Testing (TExT) in line with COSHH, HSG258 and BOHS guidance, diagnosing where systems are underperforming, and giving clients a straight answer on what needs to happen next.
You’ll need to be confident testing and commissioning all types of LEV, from welding hoods to foundries, MSCs to down-draft benches. As industry-leading experts, we cover all aspects of LEV and are able to produce top-quality reports for our clients.
What you’ll be responsible for
Testing, commissioning & fault-finding
- Carry out Thorough Examination & Testing (TExT) of LEV systems to COSHH, HSG258 and BOHS guidance
- Commissioning, performance validation and fault-finding on LEV systems
- Service, maintain and repair LEV systems including fans, filters, ducting and control systems
- Undertake site surveys of existing systems and new applications
Client & reporting
- Produce clear, accurate technical reports and documentation following site visits
- Provide technical advice and compliance guidance to clients
- Liaise with clients, colleagues and internal departments to keep projects on time and on budget
- Identify any additional works required on site and feed this back to the office
- Represent Vent-Tech professionally, to a high standard of workmanship and customer service
Training & tools
All our engineers are on a path towards obtaining the full suite of BOHS P-series qualifications plus the Certificate of Competence (Control), alongside DSEAR Hazardous Area Classification, in-situ HEPA filter testing, IPAF (MEWP) and PASMA certifications, and the BESA CSCS LEV Skillcard.
All tools and equipment are provided, including MEWPs, tower scaffolding and access equipment, power tools, specialist test instruments and full PPE.
About you
Essential: BOHS P601 as a minimum, plus P602 and/or P604.
- Able to hit the ground running. You’ll be trusted with a full caseload quickly, not eased in

- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, industrial electrics and ventilation systems
- Full UK driving licence, and willing to travel and stay away from home when required (overnight allowances provided)

- Experience with DSEAR / hazardous area classification

- Work alongside our Managing Director, Adrian Sims: LEV Association & BESA committee member and the first UK holder of the Certificate of Competency in Control. Four members of our team now hold the Certificate of Competence (Control)
- We don’t just follow LEV standards. Our people help write them, and we’re proud to be a multiple award-winning team
- Genuine independence. We recommend the right solution, not the one that happens to be on our shelf

How to apply
If you believe competency and engineering standards matter, and you want to work at the top of the LEV industry, not just in it, we’d love to hear from you.
Send your CV, details of your BOHS P-series experience, and the kinds of sites and sectors you’ve worked across to enquiries@vent-tech.co.uk. We read every application and will come back to you either way.
