Overview:

P603 is a two-day proficiency course that, alongside other courses, gives you a basic understanding of the types of control measures available for hazardous substances in the workplace. It helps you gain an understanding of the methodology, theoretical and practical knowledge you need to develop, organise and implement a successful personal protective equipment programme at your place of work.

We are now offering the P602 and P603 as a package. It will be a 5 day course all together at a discounted rate from booking them in separately.

Booking must be made two weeks prior to the course date.

Gain knowledge and understanding of:

1. The risk-based rationale for identification of personal protective equipment.
2. The reasons behind selection and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
3. The reasons behind selection and appropriate use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
4. The basic maintenance requirements for respiratory protective equipment.

Prerequisites:

You are expected to possess basic knowledge of chemical hazards that may be encountered in a workplace environment. You should also understand how they can be controlled in ways that do not rely on personal protection, for example via LEV extraction. • An engineer
  • A manager
  • A supervisor
  • A Health and Safety professional
  • An LEV technician
  • Anyone involved in the provision of PPE

Assessment:

A written theory exam followed by case studies. Case studies must be submitted within 12 months of passing the exam.
