Hands-on LEV support with the Vent-Tech mentoring service

July 18, 2017

Have you recently completed LEV training either at Vent-Tech or another provider?  Would you like help putting your learning into practise?

One stand out feature that distinguishes Vent-Tech from other companies offering LEV training, is that we also design, install, test and maintain LEV systems. This hands-on experience puts us in a unique position to be able to offer a comprehensive mentoring service to professionals who work with LEV systems. That applies whether you have done your training with Vent-Tech or somewhere else.

Courses like P601 give you the theoretical knowledge you need for testing extraction systems. If the systems you are working on are relatively simple, you’ll probably find it straightforward to apply that knowledge.

Sometimes, you may come across a one-off question that needs answering. For that, we are happy to help with a quick phone call.

But other times, say if the LEV system you are working on is particularly complicated, you may feel you need onsite support – someone to bounce your thoughts off, and ensure you get it right the first time. Or you may just want to ensure that you are applying your knowledge to the very highest standards from the outset.

What are the benefits to you of the Vent-Tech LEV mentoring service?

When it comes to LEV systems, our experienced engineers have seen it all. This means they have the knowledge to be able to advise you on all the quirks that any particular system may throw your way.

Our mentoring service makes it easy for you to relate everything you have learned in formal training – like the P600 course – to the real-world systems you work on. It will ensure you approach the testing in the correct way, and have help on hand for any problems you may face. This is so important when you consider that it is the health and safety of workers that’s at stake when these tests are being carried out.

If relevant to your situation, this mentoring support will also help you prepare to write the report which forms the final part of the P601 qualification.

How is the Vent-Tech mentoring service delivered?

With Vent-Tech mentoring you will receive a really personal service. It is one-on-one and is delivered onsite. An experienced Vent-Tech engineer will visit you and walk you through the testing. They will help you get used to the specific system you are working on and apply the knowledge you have learned from training courses. Remember, it doesn’t matter whether you trained with Vent-Tech or at another provider.

What do I do next?

Vent-Tech mentoring is the perfect way to complement your LEV training. There are over 13,000 deaths each year thought to be linked to past exposures (of mainly chemicals and dust) at work, plus over 14,000 estimated new cases of breathing or lung problems annually. It is vital to perform your LEV duties to the highest standards possible. Vent-Tech mentoring is the way to ensure you do this.
