We have an outstanding opportunity for a competent and innovative Graduate Industrial Ventilation Design Engineer to join the Vent-Tech team based in Bristol.

You will work as part of our design team responsible for the mechanical design of industrial ventilation systems. You will possess high professional standards and an understanding of the importance of value engineering coupled with aesthetic designs that are innovative yet engineered for ease of production.

The Role of a Graduate Design Ventilation Engineer with Vent-Tech

•   Reporting to one of the Directors and working alongside the contracts team, you will be responsible for designing ventilation systems, sheet metal enclosures, fan and filter selection.
•   To be responsible for the production of design calculations, sketch drawings, and system schematics.
•   To liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver design ideas in liaison with production and technical teams.
•   Produce cost proposals for clients.
•   There will be the need to work with AutoCAD and maintain schematics and our mechanical database.
•   See projects through from initial conception to installation, commissioning and hand over to the client.

Desired Skills & Experience

The Person

•   You will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or you may be a time served apprentice with a BTEC or HND. You will, however, have proven design experience within your studies/project work.

•   Ideally, you will have some experience in a mechanical design environment or will have recently graduated and worked with a portfolio that recognises your skills in designing ventilation systems.

•   You will enjoy the problem-solving process and be able to evidence where you have used initiative in finding solutions.

•   You will work well within a technical and motivated team environment, but be able to assimilate a design brief creating conceptual drawings to finished design.

•   Your approach will always be professional with customers and suppliers as you seek to develop personally and in career terms.

•   You will be methodical and organised in your approach.
